The most enduring works from the Renaissance are compositions of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina. An organist, choirmaster and music director, Palestrina during the 16th century in Palestrina (near Rome). A prolific composer, he produced hundreds of compositions in almost all the genre known in his time. Gloria Pari is one them. Translated as "Glory to the Father".
