by Franz Joseph Haydn
One of the most respected composers in the classical period, Franz Joseph Haydn was endearingly called Papa Haydn. He taught 2 of our favorite composers, Mozart and Beethoven. His oratorio "The Creation" or in German called Die Schöpfung, tells the story of God's creation of the world as told in the book of Genesis. It was juxtaposed with passages from the Psalms and plots from Paradise Lost by John Milton. Praise the Lord, Ye Voices All is the finale of this great work.
